Some homes have good bones — strong architecture, generous proportions, rooms that already understand their purpose. What they need is not reinvention, but revelation: a designer’s eye to unlock what was always there and bring every space into alignment with the life being lived inside it. The Shady Canyon Traditional is exactly that kind of project.
When the owners invited Jenna Grace Interiors in for a whole-home refresh, the goal was cohesion, warmth, and a lightness of spirit that would carry from the front door through every room. What emerged is a home transformed — one that honors its traditional roots while breathing with a new, luminous energy.
A Palette That Unifies the Home
Every great whole-home refresh begins with a decision about color — and here, that decision set the tone for everything that followed. Jenna Grace Interiors selected a carefully considered Benjamin Moore palette of Natural Cream, Swiss Coffee, and Chantilly Lace, applied across walls, wainscoting, and built-ins throughout the home. The effect is one of continuous warmth and quiet brightness — rooms that feel connected to one another, each distinct in purpose yet unmistakably part of the same story.
Against that pale, luminous backdrop, the home’s wood beams were restained in a rich espresso finish, introducing a depth and contrast that grounds the lightness above and reminds you, at every turn, that this is a home of real substance and character. New wood flooring, selected to complement the palette and flow seamlessly from room to room, completes the foundation — a surface that ties the whole home together underfoot.
New lighting was curated throughout, each fixture chosen to complement its room’s scale and mood while contributing to the home’s unified aesthetic sensibility.
An Entry That Sets the Tone
The entry received the full treatment — repainted in the home’s signature palette, warmed by newly stained wood beams, and grounded by the new wood flooring that begins its journey through the house here. A new chandelier and wall sconces introduce an immediate sense of arrival and occasion, while a thoughtfully selected console with baskets handles the beautiful practicality of daily life: dog leashes, keys, the small objects that accumulate at every family’s front door. It is a first impression that is at once elegant and deeply livable — which is precisely the Jenna Grace Interiors way.
We had the absolute pleasure of working with our designer, Jenna, on the renovation of our water-damaged home, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Her vision to reorient our living room toward the outdoors was a game changer—filling our home with light and beautiful
canyon views and completely transforming the space.
She also modernized our kitchen and bathrooms and thoughtfully reconfigured the layout to include an office, multipurpose room, and mudroom—designed around how
we want to live as we transition into a retirement lifestyle.
Beyond that, it’s the countless “special Jenna touches”, her meticulous attention to every detail, that make our home feel so unique. She has a discerning design eye and confidently shares her expertise, while always patiently listening to our ideas and preferences. What a great experience!
We are so grateful for her creativity, talent, and dedication, and highly recommend Jenna Grace Interiors to anyone looking for a designer who truly cares about bringing your vision to life!
The Game Room: A Dark Office Reimagined
Perhaps the project’s most joyful transformation belongs to what was once a dark, underutilized office off the living room. Jenna Grace Interiors saw it differently — as a gathering space waiting to be uncovered — and converted it into a game room that has since become the heart of family life in this home.
A painted coffered ceiling treatment immediately elevates the architecture of the room, giving it the kind of considered detail that makes a space feel genuinely designed. Grasscloth wallpaper above the wainscoting introduces rich texture and warmth, and the same material lines the backs of the built-in bookcases, creating a layered backdrop for games, books, and the family mementos that make a room feel truly personal.
At the center of it all, a new game table anchors the space, surrounded by custom-made leather game chairs on casters — generous, handsome, and made for hours of use. A new console completes the room. This is a space that invites people in and gives them every reason to stay — for an evening of games, for overflow holiday dining, for the kind of easy family gathering that becomes the memory everyone holds onto.
The Grand Room: Dining, Living, and the Art of Gathering
The grand room — encompassing the dining area, living space, and bar — was reimagined as a showcase for the refined, layered aesthetic that defines this refresh at its most elevated. New marble and forged brass tables bring a sophisticated material tension to the living area: cool stone and warm metal in a pairing that feels both timeless and of-the-moment.
In the dining area, a custom leather dining set with a matching buffet establishes a sense of occasion without formality — the kind of furniture that makes a dinner party feel effortless and a weeknight family meal feel special. New wall sconces and a chandelier complete the dining space, casting the room in the warm, considered light that every great dining room deserves.
Throughout the grand room, the palette, the materials, and the lighting work in concert — a room that has found its confidence and wears it with ease.
Continuity as a Design Principle
What distinguishes the Shady Canyon Traditional refresh is not any single room, but the way the home now reads as a whole. From the entry’s warm welcome to the game room’s joyful energy to the grand room’s quiet elegance, every space belongs to the same story — told in Natural Cream and Swiss Coffee and Chantilly Lace, in espresso beams and new oak floors, in leather and brass and marble and grasscloth.
This is the Jenna Grace Interiors approach to whole-home design: not a collection of renovated rooms, but a home brought fully into its own — cohesive, personal, and more beautiful than it has ever been.
Our portfolio offers a window into the elevated custom homes we create—spaces defined by quiet luxury, thoughtful detail, and effortless livability. Each project reflects a tailored collaboration with our clients, showcasing how refined design can feel both beautifully polished and deeply personal.
